Map Reading/Digital Scouting – This 45 to 60-minute presentation goes over some basic understanding of map reading and also digs in deeper to show how to formulate a plan to hunt in any given area. It could be an area you want to try for the first time or one you’ve been hunting for decades. Learn to read the topography and aerial photos to hone in on key hunting spots.
Boots on the Ground Scouting Techniques – How many people do you know that go out wandering around the woods looking for deer sign? What if you have specific places and things you were looking for to refine your search and make it so much more effective and efficient? This talk is a good one to follow up the map reading because it helps bring answers to the types of questions posed above. In this presentation, Sean goes over the key things to look for at various times of the year and how to create a hunting plan based on the information you gain while scouting. He also incorporates how that information translates into changing your hunting strategies for each period of the hunting season (pre-rut, rut, post-rut).
Archery Form and Shooting Tips (both for compound and recurve/longbow) – Sean is a certified level 2 archery instructor. In this talk, he goes over the basics in archery form and areas of the shot process each archer should focus on to improve his or her overall accuracy. Sean singles out some common problem areas in the shot process and provides techniques that can be implemented to help each participant overcome those challenges. If there is an area where shooting is available at your event, and your group size is not too large, Sean also offers one-on-one tips after watching each participant shoot (if time permits).
Compound Bow Tuning Basics – In this presentation, Sean goes over some basic bow tuning techniques. This involves not only bow setup but also yoke tuning, shimming cams, paper tuning, walk-back tuning, and french tuning.
Hunting and Archery Equipment Selection – There are all kinds of products on the market these days. Sean provides his opinion on what the most important pieces of equipment are and what products he thinks are not worth purchasing. This is especially helpful for people who are new to hunting.
Praying and Encountering God Through Hunting – Have you ever made a prayer and thought God was going to answer it, but He didn’t seem to? Have you ever felt God was going to answer your prayer, but then His answer seemed very different than you expected or hoped? Learn how Sean has powerfully developed his Christ-centered prayer life and spirituality through the prayer techniques and insights he has developed in archery and hunting. How to have a more successful relationship – Our world is saturated with divorce, broken relationships, sin, and very often the men in our culture don’t know how to fix the relationship problems they have. In this talk, Sean provided communication techniques to help men improve their marriage or dating relationships. He also provides ways of handling emotions and temptations toward sin. Outdoorsman Ecumenical Dialogue – Very often, Christians of different “denominations” or faith backgrounds focus on what they have in common and avoid the things they disagree upon. While talking about their common ground is a good starting point, it will never really leads to the unity Jesus wants us to have. In order to be effective and constructive in interfaith dialogue, many Christians would benefit from techniques to incorporate in their discussions to help them maturely address challenging topics that could lead to disagreement. In this talk, Sean provides communication techniques that every Christian can implement to help the body of believers grow closer toward unity in Jesus by being able to address the areas they currently do not agree upon.
